# How do I install Viditor?

Viditor is a signed, notarized Mac app distributed as a DMG. Anyone can download it and sign in with an email address. Installing takes a couple of minutes.

## What are the system requirements?

Viditor runs on Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or later) with macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Check yours in Apple menu → About This Mac. You also need an email address, an internet connection for sign-in and the one-time model download, and disk space for your projects.

## How do I get the download?

Go to the [download page](https://viditor.app/download) and click **Download for macOS (Apple Silicon)**. You don't need an account to download. If you're browsing on a phone, open the download page later on your Mac.

## How do I install the DMG?

Open the downloaded `.dmg` file and drag **Viditor** into your **Applications** folder. Then open Viditor from Applications or Spotlight. The app is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without extra steps.

## How do I sign in to the app?

Type your email, then enter the 6-digit code we send. Codes expire after 15 minutes. There is no guest mode.

Once the code checks out, the editor opens.

Once signed in, the app keeps working offline for up to 7 days after it last reached our server. After that, it asks you to reconnect, and picks up your saved session without a new code once you're online.

## What happens after the first launch?

## How do updates work?

Updates download automatically. A banner tells you when one is ready and what changed, and it installs when you restart. If a build is too old to keep running, Viditor shows an update screen with the message "Update Viditor to keep using it." Let a running export finish before you restart.

1. Check your Mac: Apple menu → About This Mac should show an Apple chip (M1 or later) and macOS 14 or later.
2. Open the download page, click Download for macOS (Apple Silicon) and open the downloaded DMG.
3. Drag Viditor into the Applications folder.
4. Open Viditor from Applications or Spotlight, type your email and enter the 6-digit code from your inbox.
